Born and raised in New York City, Vonne Davien has had a deep love for green spaces and waterbodies, as well as the arts and social activism her entire life. She traces her passions to her mother's, grandparents', and their community's history of activism through the Clay Avenue Block Association in the 1980s, where they transformed an abandoned lot into what is now known as Peace Park. An alumna of Bard College ('24), Vonne Davien brings to GoFB a range of experiences from her work over the last decade in entertainment and performance, academic scholarship, laboratory and natural sciences, the youth development and nonprofit sector, and the outdoor and environmental restoration fields. Jaegi has lived in Flushing for several years and has her B.A.s in Economics and Environmental Studies at CUNY Queens College. While pursuing her studies, Jaegi became an active community member across the Flushing Waterways watershed, participating in past GoFB events as a volunteer and stewarding her community garden in Corona as a core member. Additionally, she is closely engaged with sustainable fashion and circular economy groups across Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Jaegi is an advocate for preserving green (and blue!) spaces and sustainable financial practices. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a double minor in Peace and Justice Studies and Mandarin from Fordham University. Having been a climate justice and anti-gentrification organizer in NYC and more specifically in Flushing, Ryan is passionate about how socioeconomic systems and climate change are directly connected. In Flushing, Ryan has witnessed how gentrification directly impacts the well-being of our environments and people. It is why he is committed to building a strong environmental justice base in the community through GoFB's Sidewalk Stewardship program. She began her career as an environmental educator, spending several years exploring New York City’s waterways while leading whale watches with Seastreak Ferry and community oyster programs with Billion Oyster Project. Proudly based in Flushing, Emily earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from CUNY Queens College and, in recent years, has focused her work closer to home. She has deepened her roots in the community by hosting climate workshops with the Queens Public Library, serving as a poll worker, and creating outdoor fun at Queens playgrounds for the NYC Parks Department. Emily brings her passion for local waterways, outdoor programming, and the borough of Queens to her role supporting GoFB’s Sidewalk Stewardship program.
